Each year on Thanksgiving people gather with family and friends to watch football. Two local high schools meet each year for there Thanksgiving football game. This rivalry between Steinert High school and Hamilton High School-West has been going on for the past 51 years and it is still drawing attention to many people in Mercer County.
Hamilton leads the series 32-18-1. The 2009 annual Thanksgiving day Football game between these two schools will be held at Hamilton West this year with a starting time of 10:30 am. Being part of Steinert Highs alumni , being apart of this game is a very exciting tradition for me. You are able to spend time with friends and family while you are waiting for the turkey to be done and cheer for your team.
You are also able to pick up your Steinert or West football attire while at the game . Snacks such as hot dogs, hot chocolate and soda are also available for purchase.

Motorsports- Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ
Racing at Englishtown Raceway Park-Englishtown NJ
This motorsports mecca offers something for everyone. This facility has karting, motocross, sports car rally track and most of all, one of the most famous drag racing strips in the U.S. .
For three years I raced on the challenging karting road course. This track is as much fun to watch as it is to drive on. Ten classes take turns on the track racing in 10 lap races. The racers ages range from pee-wee 5 year olds to 40 somethings. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, yet you can feel the competitive tension in the air. Fierce battles for position are the norm but when the helmets come off at the end of the race, handshakes and calls of 'nice race' echo in the pit area.
Just a short walk away from the karting area is the motocross course. It is great fun to watch these fearless riders take those high jumps on this course. Across the road from the motocross is the road rally course. This course was built just a couple years ago and so far the least used track but more races for this track are planned for 2010.
Next to the karting course, on the otherside of the immense grandstands is the famed drag strip.
The drag trip hosts weekly racing from April- November.
All types of drag racing cars can be seen from modified street cars to the earth-shaking Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars that roar down the 1/4 mile at speeds in excess of 330 mph.
The biggest event occur when the NHRA series comes to the track for their premier race, the NHRA Nationals. The tickets are a little pricier than normal but still an awesome value. Where else can you walk up to top name drivers like John Force and get their autographs?
Hands down Raceway Park offers the most bang for the buck of any local sporting venue.
Tickets are $30 for adults and children ages 6-11 enter for just $10. All children 5 & under are admitted free, and there’s never a charge for parking.
Merchandise: Program $10.00
Food- $5.00 hamburger and $2.50 soda. Outside food and drinks permitted.
